terra. is a group of artists and researchers at Falmouth University making work focussed on the land.

This spans a range of approaches, interests, genres and questions, but central to everything we do is an engagement with the natural world.

terra. is part of the Institute of Photography, which prioritises research on global social and environmental challenges. This interdisciplinary approach involves collaboration with scientists, geographers, and social humanities to envision a sustainable future. The terra. visual research cluster specifically focuses on land-related methodologies and their intersections with climate justice, community dynamics, and local-global contexts, particularly in the Cornwall region. Collaboration, innovation, and impact remain central to the Institute's mission as it strives to shape societal narratives and address global challenges through photography.
